This is part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Armenian cinema and the 85th anniversary of Armenian animation

15th March 2024 – On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Armenian cinema and the 85th anniversary of Armenian animation, the National Cinema Center of Armenia has initiated a number of film restorations in cooperation with various international restoration companies, among which is the Asian Prasad Corp company, with more than six decades of experience in media production and film preservation from India which offers a comprehensive range of preservation, digitization, and restoration services globally.

The following films have been restored:

The Congregation of Mice (1978) by Lyudmila Sahakyants
The Magic Rainbow (1979) by Elvira Avagyan

The National Cinema Center of Armenia carries out all the restoration work under the state program “Preservation Service of Film and Photographic Collection” with the state financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia.

The National Cinema Center of Armenia, the legal successor to Armenfilm Studio, is a state non-commercial organization dedicated to implementing state cultural policies in cinematography. Today, the National Cinema Center of Armenia undertakes various functions, including providing state financial support to local filmmakers, digitizing, restoring, preserving, and promoting the national film heritage, as well as showcasing Armenian films in international film festivals and film markets.

Prasad, the world leader in film preservation, digitization, and restoration, will be bringing back to life the Armenian heritage consisting of feature films, documentaries and animation films for theatrical screening and online access.
